A Brisbane to Gold Coast return trip is the perfect introduction to motorhome travel. With beautiful beaches, rainforests, wildlife experiences, fantastic campgrounds and plenty of family-friendly activities, this route offers the ideal mix of adventure and relaxation whilst staying close to home.

This itinerary is particularly popular with first-time motorhome travellers, families, couples and anyone wanting a short getaway.

Day 1 – Brisbane to Tamborine Mountain

Distance

Approximately 75 km

Leave Brisbane and head towards the beautiful Gold Coast Hinterland.

Tamborine Mountain offers cooler temperatures, stunning views and a relaxing introduction to your motorhome adventure.

Take your time exploring Gallery Walk. There are plenty of unique cafés, local crafts and specialty shops that are worth browsing.

A fantastic family-friendly campground nestled amongst rainforest with spacious sites suitable for motorhomes.


Day 2 – Tamborine Mountain to Burleigh Heads

Distance

Approximately 45 km

Travel down into the Gold Coast and settle into one of Queensland's most beautiful beachside suburbs.

Many visitors immediately head to Surfers Paradise, but Burleigh offers a much more relaxed atmosphere.

Day 3 – Explore the Gold Coast

Spend the day enjoying the many attractions available across the Gold Coast.

Surfers Paradise

Visit the iconic beachfront, shops and entertainment precinct.

Broadwater Parklands

Perfect for picnics, cycling and family activities.

Miami and Nobby Beach

Popular local beaches with excellent cafés and a more relaxed atmosphere.

Springbrook National Park

A short drive inland to discover spectacular waterfalls and ancient rainforest.

Stay

Return to Ocean Beach Tourist Park for a second night.


Day 4 – Gold Coast to Kingscliff

Distance

Approximately 40 km

Cross into New South Wales and enjoy a more relaxed coastal experience.

Kingscliff is one of the hidden gems of the Tweed Coast and is particularly popular with motorhome travellers.

Day 5 – Return to Brisbane via Tweed Heads

Distance

Approximately 95 km

Take a leisurely drive back towards Brisbane.
